The place was a medical practice waiting room and we were seated close to the entrance door. Like in any doctor waiting room, everyone in there was silent or whispering and with that uncertain-worried-bored-annoyed face.
There was this old fellow sitting close to the door conducting to the examination room, reading a magazine and paying no frocking attention to the pet he had with him. The pet, which he treated like a dog, was a hairy blob of about 8×6 inches with some two to three inches in high and it was moving all over the place. The pet also had an offspring that was like half it size, it also was moving all over, kind of following its progenitor but also taking chances to explore on its own, all this under the uncaring attitude of the old fellow that was their owner.
The offspring decided to veer my way and explore under my seat between my legs. My wife, who was seating by my side, and I started to feel nervous. I began moving my legs and changing the position of my feet. Then I notice that the offspring left a blob half its size there just between my feet and left. The little blob was alive and was the offspring own offspring. So now we had three of those “pets”.

Just at that moment a tall, bald guy came into the office and went directly to the counter to speak to the nurse that was seating behind. He wanted to receive emergency treatment to solve a condition he was feeling was coming to him and was speaking at a volume that let everyone in the room to clearly hear his enquire and problem. The nurse examined the paper the man gave her, went to the back, talked to someone and came with an answer. Everyone including me was observing all this. Then I notice that I had stepped on the little blob and it looked like dead.
The nurse told the man that unfortunately they could not treat his problem due to another condition he had, that they were sorry and sent him to go to another office. Meanwhile the pet (the big one) noticed the little blob half-dead under my seat and came to see it. The pet opened its bottom by the front as if it was a lettuce spreading his leaves flat to the floor and moved them carefully as if for picking the blob up but the little blob was not moving and no giving signs of being alive so the pet was just observing it. The tall bald guy took his papers and left the office. At that moment the old guy was called inside to be seen by the doctor so he started calling his pet as if it was a dog. When he noticed that the offspring was not at sight together with the pet he asked me if I had seen it to which I answered negatively stating that I did not see anything. Just then we were called too and were given the papers we were there waiting for. We stood up, got the papers and taking advantage of this situation I urged my wife to leave as soon as possible, which we did.
As soon as we exited the doctor’s office and closed the door behind us we noticed that in the hall in front of the elevators there was someone laying on the floor having convulsions and being attended by some medical personnel from the same office. My wife, who happened to know emergency procedures, went to check on what was going on. The person was no other than the tall, bald guy who apparently suffered a shock and started convulsing as soon as he had left the office, he was receiving electroshocks and being injected with Sodium Pentothal, and of course my wife, even though seeing the other more qualified people there, she decided to do her best in helping the guy. For the matter, I was already pushing the elevator button and calling her to leave the situation on better hands but, she was so into it, that ignored me and kept on trying to help. The elevator door opened and I halted it for what it looked like an eternity calling her to go and becoming totally frustrated when … finally, I woke up.
